International Conference Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to the International Conference on Forest Habitat Restoration taking place on 16-17 October 2024 in Sofia. This conference will gather experts, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss and address the pressing issues related to forest habitat restoration.

The Conference is organized by WWF Bulgaria, in partnership with Southwest State Forest Enterprise, in the framework of the project LIFE REFOREST, co-financed by EU’s Life Nature 2019 Programme

Note: The site is reached after a 20-minute walk on a gentle slope.

15:30 - 16:30   Arrival at Lokorsko village and visit to the tree nursery at DGS Sofia

16:30   Departure from Lokorsko

17:00   Arrival at Hotel Metropolitan, Sofia and departure for National Stadium Vasil Levski

  • Location: 16 October 2024, Metropolitan Hotel Sofia, Bulgaria; 17 October field trip to Lokorsko Forest Nursery and a restoration site around Simitli/Kresna

  • Language: English and Bulgarian 

  • Fees: There is no participation fee. The organizers do not cover the cost of meals and transport beyond what is indicated in the program, as well as for the accommodation. The participants are responsible for covering their expenses.

  • Note: The number of participants is limited to 60 and will be determined by the order of registration

  • Registration: Please confirm your attendance by 07.10.2024. by completing the registration form
